I have recently had an obsession with different face primers, and am on a mission to find one I really love and can’t live without! One that I have definitely been a fan of for a long time is the Smashbox primer, which I discovered about 6 or more years ago, but I wanted to see if there was better ones out there.
There are so many on the market, as every single make up brand has their own primer, but its hard to know whether they are that good and also if the ones on the market are just so similar it wouldn’t make much difference which one you purchased.
As I was passing the Rimmel counter in boots quite recently I noticed this one, which is a fix and perfect primer with 5 in 1 results! I think any product that promises that amount of results is quite a statement and worth the test. at £6.99 you cant really go wrong with the price.
The 5 in 1 properties are that it smoothes, resurfaces, brightens, mattifies and protects.
I have been using this under my foundation consistently now, and whether it really hits the spot for all of these i am not so sure, but then I don’t have terrible skin! It goes on really smoothly and it does mattify the skin like it says, but I like the fact that unlike some primers that mattify it doesn’t go powdery (which I hate) but it just leaves a really smooth texture and removes excess shine, which I am prone to especially on my chin. It leaves a great surface to then apply your foundation, or can be worn alone as a great base just for some bronzer or blusher.
In terms of protection, I’m not quite sure what its protecting from as it doesn’t have any SPF in it, and brightening well I haven’t really noticed any specific brightening properties.
All I can say is that so far I am really enjoying using this primer, it really does smooth on for lasting foundation wear, and for such a great price, I think its a definite must have in anyones make up kit.
